How To Clean iPhone Storage In 5 Steps - 2024

1. Clearing Safari Cache:

To clear your Safari cache, go to Settings > Safari and tap Clear History and Website Data.

If you want to keep history but delete cache go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and then tap Remove All Website Data. When there's no history or website data to clear, the setting turns gray. The setting might also be gray if you have web content restrictions set up under Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time.

2. Optimizing Photo Storage

Photos takes a lots of storage. But you can keep smaller photo files instead of original versions. Full resolution photos and videos saved on your iCloud account and if you want you can download it again. To enable this feature open Settings, tap Photos make sure there's a blue checkmark next to the Optimize iPhone Storage option.

3. Offload Apps You Don't Use All the Time:

If you don't want to completely delete an app, you can offload it. Offloading lets you keep the documents and data so that you can reinstall it anytime and use it right away. To do this, Settings > General > iPhone Storage and then tap any app that you want to offload and tap Offload App. You can also set your iPhone to do this automatically by Settings > App Store > Offload Unused Apps toggle on.

4. Automatically Delete Old Messages:

Deleting old messages can help even more than you think. Old iMessage chats may be consuming your memory. To prevent this, Settings > Messages > Keep Messages and then you can select an option there.
